How to Score Points for your Team:
The goal of the Atlanta Creek League is to get you excited about keeping up with your creek! Here are ways to score points for your Creek Team – make sure you submit your points so we can tally them up and add them to the leaderboard!
FUN Activities
Urban creeks are all around us! They can be polluted, trashy, and flashy (flood prone), but they can also be incredibly beautiful, vibrant, and relaxing places connecting neighborhoods. Here are some ways you can experience and enjoy even a tiny urban creek and score points for your team. Please note the activities that we do NOT recommend: swimming, boating, wading, or drinking directly from Atlanta's urban creeks. Don't trespass on private property. Always explore with a buddy and be aware of the humans and wildlife you may encounter. Check the weather; creeks rise rapidly in a Georgia thunderstorm and become dangerous in rainy weather. Creek dwellers to learn and avoid include: poison ivy, ticks, and rattlesnakes.
Observe & Report Activities
As you get to know your creek, you'll notice when something doesn't look or smell right. Learning who to contact or how to take action is not always easy. Contact your team captain with questions on how to report a problem.
Stewardship Activities
Ready to get muddy and get to work? You can make a difference solo, join a volunteer activity, or organize one for your neighborhood. Here are some ways you can help and the established orgs, programs, and apps that can increase your impact.
